Last season the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors went all the way to the NBA Finals, a thrilling seven-game series that ended in the Golden State victory. If you want to see if the two teams can do it again, the 2022-23 season kicks off October 18 with a doubleheader on TNT. If you don’t have cable, you can still watch NBA games online with a live TV streaming service.
If you’re a die-hard fan, consider getting a subscription to NBA League Pass. This streaming service lets you watch any game broadcast on ABC, ESPN or TNT at any time during the regular season—plus, you get anytime access to a curated selection of “classic” games. It’s available on most major streaming devices and costs $130 a year or $20 a month.
Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV both have national channel packages that include ABC, ESPN/ESPN2, TNT and NBA TV. Hulu’s plan is cheaper at $70 a month, while YouTube TV offers a three-month deal that drops the price to $55 a month. Both services also offer a free 7-day trial.
If you’re interested in college basketball, over-the-air digital antennas are a good option. Digital antennas like HDHomeRun will deliver live broadcasting from your local channels (including regional sports networks) and give you access to NCAA March Madness games. If you want to see the hottest rivalry in the league, though, you’ll need a subscription to a service that includes NBA TV. AT&T TV NOW and Hulu with Live TV include it with their plans, while fuboTV has it as part of its Sports Extra add-on ($11/mo). Philo doesn’t carry NBA TV or NBC Sports Bay Area and California.
